4-port OC-3c/OC-12c/OC-48c Packet over SONET/SDH Line Card With Pluggable SFP Modules Overview
The 4-port OC-3c/OC-12c/OC-48c Packet over SONET/SDH (POS)
line card for the Force10 E-Series E600 and E1200 is based on the
innovative Force10 TeraScale™ ASICs and provides pluggable SFP
optics supporting distances up to 80 km.
This line card provides industry leading density of up to 56 OC-3c/OC-12c/OC-48c multi-rate SONET/SDH ports in a single chassis.
Additionally, the TeraScale ASICs and E-Series architecture deliver
line-rate performance with QoS and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
enabled and jumbo frame support with full IPv4 routing.
These cards present a truly flexible solution that can be used in
applications spanning the MAN and WAN.
Key Features
- Full line-rate throughput for 40 to 9,252 byte SONET/SDH frames on all
ports with all features enabled
- Pluggable SFP optics providing support for IR-1 and LR-2 optical interfaces
- Ports are CLI selectable options on an individual basis to be either OC-3c,
OC-12c or OC-48c with either SONET or SDH framing and PPP encapsulation
- Guaranteed packet delivery through virtual output queues that minimize
latency and eliminate head-of-line blocking
- Standards-compliant Packet over SONET/SDH support
- Wire-speed security features including up to 26K
IPv4 Access Control Lists (ACLs) per line card
(using default CAM profiles)
- Fully functional routing with up to
512K IPv4 addresses per line card
(using default CAM profiles)
