16-port High Density 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN/WAN PHY With Pluggable XFP Modules Overview
The 16-port high density 10 Gigabit Ethernet line card for the
Force10 E-Series E600 and E1200 is based on the innovative
Force10 TeraScale™ ASICs and E-Series Architecture and provides
pluggable XFP modules supporting distances up to 80 km.
This line card provides industry-leading density of up to 224
10 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a single chassis. Each line card slot
supports 48 Gbps of throughput or a density of up to 56 line-rate,
non-blocking 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a single chassis.
Additionally, the TeraScale ASICs and E-Series Architecture enables
predictable performance with QoS and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
enabled, jumbo frame support, with simultaneous L2 switching,
IPv4 and IPv6 routing.
This card present a truly flexible solution that can be used in
applications spanning the LAN, MAN and WAN.
